Hvordan udviklede hans liv og forfatterskab sig? Vi vil derefter g\u00e5 ned i en konkret analyse af en af hans s\u00e5kaldte &#8220;sm\u00e5 romaner&#8221;, Mimoser fra 1886, hvor han skriver om k\u00e6rlighed, \u00e6gteskab og utroskab. Romanen udkom under den s\u00e5kaldte &#8220;s\u00e6delighedsfejde&#8221;, hvor man diskuterede k\u00f8nsmoral som aldrig f\u00f8r, men hvad Pontoppidan mente med sin roman, var ikke helt let at finde ud af.
